Excel 2000 - cell displays formula not value

  Spike26 15:28 01 Feb 07

I'm going crazy!
I've one sheet in my workbook where I've used the wizard to concatinate a number of text cells into a single cell.
That cell will only display the formula although the wizard shows the correct result.
A simple "=a1+b1" displays the formula as does "=1+1".

Other sheets in the same workbook show the formula values correctly.

Can someone tell me what I'm missing please.

Just a thought. You haven't got a stray apostrophe or some other format character at the beginning of the formulae have you?

Check that the cell's format is set to General.

Make sure there are no leading spaces.

Under Tools, Options check that Formula isn't ticked.
