hi..please dont all laugh at once...My evesham desktop PC is left on all the time, on the odd occasion it is turned off for more than a few hours when it is restarted it sounds like a biscuit tin full of nails..the way i get round it is the keep restarting it and with a little help from a hair dryer once it is warm it is ok...you all still with me..........good, anyway i now know what it is..it is the box of tricks with the fan in it and the main switch with all the wires going off in different directions..now to the point :-) is it the kind of thing that can be replaced ? or are they made all differently so i would have to knock on MR Evesham's door..

thanks...

Its very easily replaced, just be carefull of static when delving inside the PC.

The noise is probably Dust & Fluff inside the PSU and on the fan try cleaning it with air duster avainlable at maplins.
