Everything has 'Shrunk' after Windows XP Update

I downloaded some Windows XP Critical Updates, plus 3 Driver updates; one for my Mitsubishi Montitor, one for my onboard sound, and onboard graphics.

After a Restart, everything has 'Shrunk'. All my Icons are smaller, text boxes have shrunk and are more difficult to read, the same for dialogue boxes etc.

Not only that, but all text is 'softer'. How can I restore it all?

and I really cant think why this should happen unless you got a graphics driver update that really didnt work too well, try right clicking the desktop, select properties then the settings tab. try moving the resolution slider down to some smaller numbers and see if that helps.

to change the size of icons

runbox command
- press keyboard buttons: winkey + r
- paste this in slot: desk.cpl @0,2
- press: enter
- click: advanced
- click bar: desktop
- choose: icon
- choose the size you want
- click: ok
- click: apply
- reboot

runbox command
- press keyboard buttons: winkey + r
- paste this in slot: desk.cpl @0,3
- press: enter
(see if the resolution has changed)
- change resolution back

hope this helps

On installing the new graphics driver Windows may have defaulted to a higher resolution setting.

Right click on the desktop, then click on "properties" in the box that appears. Next in the new window click on "settings". Now adjust the resolution slider until you find the setting you are happy with.
