ethernet controller

i have just reformatted my hard drive and reinstalled windows xp sp2. all is well except i cannot now use the ethernet port for my cable modem. it worked ok prior to the reformat etc. do i need a driver for it and if so where can i get one from? any help would be appreciated as i am having to use usb

The drivers for my PC are located on the manufacturers system restore disk.

Failing that, you will have to look up the manufacturers website for the drivers

If you have the motherboard disc it will be on that.
If you know the make of your motherboard go to their site and download.
