Ethernet card for old laptop

  Frank P 10:40 16 May 03

I have an old IBM Thinkpad (circa 1996/7 I think, 166Mhz 32 Mb Ram running Windows 98 SE and would like to connect it to my network. Have tried using a 10/100Mbps Cardbus card but it won't fit into the slot on the laptop. The step on the left at the front is too high. Question what is the difference between a "Cardbus card" and a "PCMCIA card" and if I bought a PCMCIA 10/100 Mbps would this work.
