Is there a standard of cat5e ethernet cable which is suitable for the outdoors? Thinking of linking 2 building with a section of the cable either attaced to an outside wall or underground. If so whats it called? Thanks.

you could always use a normal ethernet cable and put it in conduit(thinks that how its spelt) and then seal the conduit in the buildings? conduit is availible at most DIY stores?

If you can get plugs you can make your own

Works out at alot for a single cable though, if you buy 100m reel, crimper and jacks. Might be worth giving them a call to see what they recommend.

As LivEvil said, if you don't need to take the cable very far you can get round 20mm conduit in 3m lengths to protect it, Ebuyer do 30-75m cat5 for £10-£20.
