eSata External Drive

  RLMTS 21:19 01 Sep 10

I would like to use an eSata external drive.

Do I need to purchase a PCI interface card, or does my motherboard give me a connection.

If MB has a port, is there a cable spec that I should buy.

Link to MB spec...

Thank you.

It doesn't look like it has an eSATA port, you'll probably need one of these click here

Just a cautionary note.

I used an eSATA external drive for a while, but found very flaky and I lost a lot of data.

Could just have been an unlucky one off, but I went back to a USB connection (I had a choice)and have had no problems since.

My e-sata burner came with an e-sata port to install. Simple job to connect it to the motherboard.

Thanks all,
I've bought a PCI eSata port and cable.
Have not set it up yet.
Will let you know if there are any issues.
