Error using to "to" button in Outlook 2003

  Pev 08:26 25 Feb 04

When I start a new email in Outlook 2003 and use the 'to' button, I get an old email address that is no longer in my contacts or address book. I cannot delete this as the email address cannot be found other than when I press the 'to' button and type in the first letter of that persons name. Then a selection of names comes up, only some of which are currently in my address book. Where is this drop down list stored and how do I go about deleting the incorrect email addres shown? I have tried to overide it by duplicating the name with the new email address but it stills shows the old overwritten address whenever I use this method to start a new email. Any help would be much appreciated.
