Hi Guys. I got this while uninstalling Windows Messenger in XP using this command:
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
Any ideas what this means or if it matters.

I followed all the MS KB advice on stopping Messenger running and still I got pop-ups, and I ran out of patience. Have I made a bad mistake?

WinXP SP1 etc.

AH, uninstalling Windows Messenger will not solve the popup problem.

The service that allows poups, is known as the Messenger service...it is something different to Windows Messnger.

To stop the popups:

Cheers guys. I had forgotten about the Messenger service. I already disabled it on the PC but not the laptop. Looks like I've done no real harm in getting that message, so I'll stop fiddling now.
