error notices on connecting (broadband)

When connecting to broadband a box states:
`PCIScanner. Error starting the driver`
followed by
`PCIScanner Error stopping the driver`
These are then followed by an Alert box stating
`(objectXPCNativeWrapper [object HTMLBodyElement])`
followed by
`(object XPCNativeWrapper[object HTMLScriptElement]).

While the boxes clear by clicking OK, where is the fault and how do I rectify?

Look in The programs that Start at boot. Use MSCONFIG from run setup tab, Can you see STIMON.exe if you can remove the tick and restart your computer. I have this problem with my Epson Perfection, Now after you get back into windows go to start\search, type in Stimon.exe right click the file and drag to quick start bar, choose create shortcut. When you want to scan click on this icon to start scanner. You can remove it after by Ctrl+Alt+Del

johnnyrocker & woodchip,
My thanks to both for your replies.
Firstly, the scanner (Epson Perfection as suggested) works fine but, just in case, I reinstalled the software. On rebooting, the offending boxes still came up - and the scanner still works fine.
Next, I ran MSCONFIG but could find no STIMON.exe. I also tried the search system where STIMON (alone) came up thrice but I could get nowhere with that so I couldn`t follow the rest of the instruction. Any further suggestions, please?
