My laptop appear to have died last, as it wouldn't boot up. I have an Fujitsu Siemens Amilon laptop, running on XP SP1.

It starts and then brings up the above error message. I've tried booting it up with the recovery CD to no avail and am wondering whether it could be the hard drive or not. I also get an ominous power loss and the system crashes, although I'm not sure if that's the battery. It was AOK before this episode. Sorry for the lack of detail due to being at work. All offers of help/advice, as alaways, gratefully accepted. If more info req'd let me know. Thanks

Oops - at end of error message it states Dll file missing or corrupt.

Do not try this if it is an OEM version of Windows click here

OEM - always get confussed with this - I think you mean that Windows XP was installed on the laptop at the factory? - I have the recovery disk but assume that this is of no help.

Any ideas if I shouldn't use the Microsoft fix?

Thanks
