Error message when I start printing

  bjantbear 16:55 23 Jun 08

I run an HP 970Cxi printer and when I start to print a document I get a balloon with the following message in it saying

"This document failed to print

Document Name

Date and time

To fix, click here and open Troubleshooter, click on help"

Nothing seems to work.

I have contacted Hewlett Packard but they could not help.

I have even formatted my hd because I thought something had infected it and it could not be removed.

It is still coming up.

Has anyone had some thing like this before and if so how do I get rid of it.

Start>Control Panel>Printers, right click on your 970CXi and make sure there is no tick in "Use printer offline"
Are all the cables in correctly?
Can you right click the printer in the Printers folder and select properties, which should tell you your ink levels etc?
