error message trying to install?

im trying to install windows xp, but i get a error message saying -
SXS.DLL: syntax error in manifest or policy file "D:\I386\asms\1000\msft\windows\gdiplus\" on line 4

wat is wrong? plz help

The gdiplus.dll file is probably corrupted. Go to this site and download the file and replace it.

I would say your xp cd is damaged or corrupted,Google seems to suggest this also.

If you have the means to another xp cd,use this but with your activication key.

thanks, ive downloaded the file, but how do i replace it?
do i have to integrate it into the disc or can it be done seperate?

I think Santos means:

Load the xp disc into another computer and explore the contents,on the same computer save the downloaded file to the desktop and then locate the corrupted file and replace with the new downloaded file.

Never had to do this,so i maybe wrong,but im sure santos will correct me if so.
