for the first time i have expierienced defrag problems using x/p pro. error message as follows;
error scan cancelled error occured in file
c;windows\tem.internet flies\content.ie5\XNJR5H4E\default(3).htm
grateful for any fix please

That seems to be a temporary internet file. Try opening a browser window, go to Tools > Internet Options > Delete Files (in the Temporary Internet Files section).

Then try defrag again.

If you clear the temp internet files out this should solve prob.
Open Internet Explorer - click 'TOOLS' - 'Internet Options' - Centre section click 'SETTINGS' - 'VIEW FILES' - Select all the files and delete them. Close the window.
Then click the Clear history button.

What the system is trying to do is defrag Temporary files. Total waste of time and energy as they change whenever you go on the net.

Can you manually delete the 'default(3).htm' file in the XNJR5H4E folder?

As an aside, is your anti-virus program up to date, and have you run AdAware (or similar) lately? This *may* be caused by a program 'locking' the file. Pure speculation on my part, but worth checking if you haven't already.
