error message

My system is Windows ME and I have a broadband connection.
Suddenly begun to get an error messagwe whenver I send messages from Outlook Express: "You have entered an incorrect email address and password. Please re-enter and try again". I've obviously NOT entered a wrong adress, etc as I'm already on line. When I click "OK" the message disappears and the email goes.
I had problems iniitally getting msgtag to accept my new (post Broadband) email address; and also with Bigfoot to forward to the new address.
Both of these now solved - but it was after this that the error message began.
Anyone else with this experience? Advice , please.
