Error Code 57E

I using Vista 64

Every time I go to shut down my computer I receive the massage “INSTALL UPDATES SHUT DOWN” every time I look to see what update it is, it’s the same one

“Security Update for Microsoft Office Excel 2003 (KB969681)”

I have ticked the box on & off tried to download to file all to no avail
“Some updates were not installed (Error) found Code 57E
I’ve looked on the net for Microsoft update all I find site that charge you download.

Surly Microsoft has a free patch for this problem

After downloading Error Code 57E. I received this error 1460 Setup cannot write the value to the registry key\software\classes\CLSID\{5F6C4076-12F5-11D3-8CEE-005004838434}\TyprLib.
Verify that you have sufficient permissions to access the registry or contact your Information Technology dept for assistance.

Save all your office work IE:

Excel spreadsheets, Word documents PowerPoint presentations, Access Databases.

To a safe location on your PC.

Uninstall Office.


Re-install Office using the original Cd's.

Update the suite via Windows update.
