error and black screen

Hi have pc come up with error 'warning some changes in chipset or clock settings caused boot failure.' press f1

but keyboard isn't working. I have changed battery in cmos and tried new keyboard but still not working.

Any ideas????

have you tried safe mode.

or boot from windows cd and opt for repair option, thats if you can get that far.

HAve you a manual for your motherboard?

try resetting the BIOS to default settings (changing battery may not always reset BIOS you may need to use the clear BIOS jumper settings)

Use a PS2 Keyboard and in BIOS make sure USB is enabled also do a Default setting restore, save then exit bios

I'm using a ps2 keyboard and that won't work so cannot access bios. Won't boot from cd either.

any other ideas??

PS I hope you know that a PS2 keyboard should only be connected with the Power off, that means battery out also
