Every time I restart (Windows XP SP3) a window appears with: "Epson Status Monitor 3 Environment Check 2.lnk.disabled" on it.

How do I either undisable it (re-enable, probably), or prevent the notice from appearing every time?

Have you tried going to Control Panel, Uninstall Epson Status Monitor, and then re-installing it?

Start menu/run, type

msconfig

press return

Change to normal startup (from selective) or tick the unticked box in the Startup tab. Reboot - if you don't want the Status Monitor running, disable it from the printer software interface (open Printer and Faxes, right click printer, select Properties).

Brundle: I tried it, but couldn't get it to work (my fault? don't discount it).

But chub_tor's do-the-job-thoroughly method has cleared it all up anyway.

Thanks to you both.
