I have installed an Epson V300 in my new Windows 7 PC, and I cannot see it in my devices. What does show, however, is the Microsoft Document Printer. Is this the scanner device?
I have used it, and it seems to work OK, but I wonder if I should install the original software for the Epson scanner?

driver as part of it make up- so it may well be this item that is detecting a scanner- but it will only off basic facilities and none of the enhanced ones included in the Epson package.
So the question is does the software for the v3000 run on Win7?
An email to Epson scanner support should answer that.

Older versions of Windows have the 'Program compatibility Wizard-[ start/programs/accessories] this enables say, XP to behave as '98 so that older software would run.
Does '7' have this too or has it progressed a tad too far?

You should install the correct drivers for your Windows 7. Start from here click here# selecting 32 bit or 64 bit.
Are you sure that it is not Document Writer rather than Printer?

Thanks for your input.

Yes! It was "Writer", not "Printer" - sorry about that!
I've downloaded the 64 version, and that works fine, so thanks again!
