Epson despooler error

My Epson Stylus Colour 600 printer provides excellent service but it has refused to print a 1Mb family photo in 'photo enhanced' mode.
The error message is 'encountered an error while processing band data: out of memory'
The printer is working perfectly if I don't ask for 'photo enhanced' but I want a good print on glossy paper.
Any ideas, friends?

Go into Start\Settings\Printers\properties\details\spool settings and try clicking on the "print direct to printer" then retry your print job

Thanks, Woodchip. I did what you suggested but I'm afraid the same message reappears.
Any more thoughts?

Try removing the Printer from Add Remove then clear out Epson folders from Explorer you could also run a find files for Epson and look for a Epson INI or INF file and delete it. then reinstall the printer and driver
