My Epson CX6600 printer will no longer print and this message comes up:-

'Parts inside your printer are at the end of their service life'.

It is several years old and is out of warranty but has given good service so far.

Is it worth having it serviced or would the cost of servicing make it more sensible to replace it and, if so, with what?
Joan.

This is normall related to ink pads being full cost of serviceing is high This little utility should reset the counters read the instructions for use, click here

Thank you for the advice.
Unfortunately everything I try returns the message:-
'this function is not supported in current printer state'
except for the Current Value which is 16757.
Am I doing something wrong?
Joan.

Dear Paul,
It all worked just as you said - flashing warning light and nasty message disappeared and, when I tried to print, all the right windows came up until the last which is greyed out and I am getting a message saying "no memory card".
But I am not aware of having a memory card and I certainly haven't removed one.
Joan.

The message suggests that the printer is trying to print from a card. Check that the 'Card Print' button is not pressed on the control panel and that the memory card cover is closed.
I don't have this printer so I can only look up the errors on Google.

A very big thank you to all the people who responded to my pleas for help.
I am 82 and living alone so I am very dependent on help online.
Now, thanks to you, I have a printer that is working perfectly and I have been saved from having to buy a new one.
Paul's tip was particularly effective.
Joan.

I'm very pleased to hear that you are able to print once more.
These computer things are lovely - until the day they don’t work!
