Epson C64 printer problem, "no Paper"

My next door neighbour just been.

His C64 printer doesn't want to print anymore. It gives message "No Paper".

Got him to fetch it in to me and installed in on my PC and it printed first time.

Told him to remove all his printer drivers and re-install. Done that still the same. He also re-installed another printer he has (a Canon) but that also comes up with "No Paper".

The only difference between our two PCs is mine is running Win 98SE and his is running Win ME.

Any ideas, please?

Does he have outdated drivers? He might be installing the driver for windows 98

mossyboy, good point. He brought the install CD that came with the printer in to me, but I would have thought that would have been universal?

After all, if I buy a printer today I would expect the install CD to work with any O/S

Apart from that though it was working OK a few days ago on ME. It only happened today. (so he says).

Neighbour has been back. He has taken all printer drivers off. Shut down and rebooted.

Done a disk cleanup, defrag etc.. again shut down and rebooted. Has now re-installed only the C64 drivers and all working again.

Ticked as resolved.
