Epson 875DC drivers

  Rogerfredo 12:56 13 Apr 04

Having just upgraded from ME to XP Home, I have downloaded the latest XP drivers from the Epson site.
The printer works ok, but I cannot read from the built in memory card reader.
I just get a message which says that usb reader driver is not installed correctly.
The hardware device display on system info suggests the driver is ok.
Anyone any ideas?

I presume these are the drivers you downloaded:

Epson support says:

"I am getting an IF4 error after installing the USB printer driver. The EPSON USB Printers icon in the Device Manager shows up as a Diamond and I get an error stating that there is a problem with the printer.
For some reason the USB installation may have gotten corrupted.

1. Turn printer Off
2. Go to Device Manager and Remove the EPSON USB Printer Device (EPUSB1:)
3. Go to Printers and remove the SP875DC driver
4. Restart the Computer
5. Once back to the Desktop, Power the printer on and it should Plug and Play USB correctly"

Thanks for trying, but I still have the problem.
I will try a usb card reader from a friend.

I have since had a reply from Epson, who confirm that the built in USB in the printer will not work with XP.
I have therefore bought a card reader from Ebuyer for about £8 which is USB2 and works very well.
