Enough RAM?

  Nuss 15:45 20 Mar 06

My computer was constructed to a spec. about 4 years ago. The Processor is an AMD Duron 796 MHz with 112 MB ram. I had been using Windows 98 SE with no problems but ,after installing XP, I started to get messages that the physical memory was running low.
I did increase this but am now wondering if perhaps I need to increase the RAM?

I have noted that on some programs the recommended amount of RAM is specified at 256MB.

If I were to increase the RAM would this be compatible with the processor? What type of RAM should I buy? etc, and could anyone point me in the right direction of a good site that details the installation ( if appropriate ).
Many thanks

you need 256 ram bare minimum for xp, I recommend 512mb at least.
