Makes interesting reading, there's no doubt that shared dll's can cause no end of trouble sooner or later especially if you're like me and do a lot of installing/uninstalling applications. I found this really useful free programme called RZDLL Backup that makes a backup copy of all the current dll's on your system and will in the event of the "windows can't find xxxx.dll" message restore the .dll file to the correct place (provided it's in your backup set of course). I run it before and after I've put any new software on my PC and it's got me out of the whotsits a couple of times....alB
