Encryption on a Home Network

  Nic 22:24 03 Jan 04

Just purchased a US Robotics USR9106 ADSL Router with Wireless PCI Adapters and successfully set up a small network at home. At the moment all the PCs are vulnerable and do not have WEP encryption enabled. Try as hard as I might, ticking the WEP encryption tick box on the Wireless Network Properties tab shuts down the network. Can anybody point me in the right direction to get the problem resolved?

You need to enble it for both the Router and the cards and clearly, whatever key you choose has to be the same. If you enable one and not the other, then your network will cease to operate.

There's some information about it click here

Thanks for the advice. That worked a treat and my network traffic is now encrypted safely(!)
