enabling internet connection on networked computer

Hi there,
I am trying to network my girlfriends computer to mine and am having a problem getting AOL to connect to the internet from hers
We are using a cross patched cable to get the network and have set this up using the windows network wizard. I am using xp pro and hers is xp home.
My computer is the host and is connected to AOL when trying to connect from hers using the lan it either cannot find its way through the network or is getting held up at my end
I have browsed the forum and have turned off the inbuilt firewalls and enabled the netBios on both machines
Has anyone else had this problem? or can you help?

click here BTW although it doesn't matter if you are both using XP you don't have to enable netBIOS.

Sorry Andy, didn't see you there....

You may well need to start the firewall and look in Help as to how to allow networking.
