Email transfer from Outlook Express 5 to Vista

I have copied all the .dbx files from my old Windows 98 PC to transfer my emails from OE5 to my new laptop running Vista Premium. Vista Windows Mail has succesfully imported most of the files into its own system, but refuses to recognise and therefore import some of the .dbx files representing, as far as I'm concerned, essentially similarly constructed OE5 sub-folders of the inbox, others of which have been accepted.
Has anyone else met and solved this problem?

The answer seems to be here under the section about Vista and Windows Mail click here you need to create a separate file first.

Thanks for your help anskyber, but got my original instructions from your source. The rogue .dbx files still won't import! Looks like I'll have to forward each message in turn!
