Email attachments changing to winmail.dat HELP

  j3nks 22:25 09 Apr 03

When sending any attachments form my outlook they get changed to winmail.dat attachments, it does not matter what they are they all get changed.
I am using windows 98 version 4.10.1998 and outlook 2000 SP3 version
Any help on this matter would be gratefully received

Basically, you are sending using rich text (the ability to change typeface, font colour etc), and the receiver can only view plain text.

You need to adjust your 'send' options so that you are sending your messages as plain text.

The winmail.dat file itself simply contains the additional information (typeface, colour, bold, italic etc) that the receiving email client can not display (or has been configured not to display).
