Editing MP4 files

I have an MP4 file of about 250 MB size and I'd like to cut on a lot the video sequences (it's of our drains taken with CCTV cameras so no copyright issues). Basically I'd like to remove several unimportant sections and leave the important ones in the movie. I use Windows 7 Home Premium and the MP4 file is on a DVD. What would be the best (free) software to use? Does W7 HP ship with anything that might prove useful? Any help appreciated.

MPEG Streamclip is a simple editor that will do.

Needs Quicktime Alternative 1.81 specific version only.
