Editing with Movie Maker and Nero

I'm trying to edit mini DV's on Movie Maker and have managed to save the projects but when saved to CD-R, they are not readable on my DVD player.
I am told that I need to use Nero to change the file format from WMM to MPEG format but don't know how. tried to drag and click in Nero but it cannot read the file - can anyone help ?

Is WMM the only file format you can render in with Movie Maker?

I am fairly sure that Windows Movie Maker will not make mpg files; you will need to use some other programme to do this. There are lots available to buy; I have used Ulead video studio in the past. A free trial download is here:

Possibly someone will know of a free programme, or a file converter. To get better quality use mpg2 when you burn the CD.
