i have a camcorder which records straight to dvd and now want o edit this dvd on the PC. What software do i need to transfer the dvd onto the PC, edit it and then burn onto dvd again

in the editing stage i want to add graphics, sound, chapters, delete scenes, menus etc

i tried using nero 6 but it will not burn the dvd for some reason, just crashes

can anyone recommend software to do this? i have XP and dont mind paying for software but not sure which one

Why not copy the DVD files to the Hard Drive then you have a chance to convert them, so you can edit

Any of the video editors like Magix or adobe premiere elemnts will do this Magix Movie studio plus has all the facilities you want and Amazon does some good deals. Trawl through their list though this may suit

@ woodchip

if i copy the files to the hard drive what do i use to edit?

@eedcam

if i use magix, will that do all the steps for me rather than have eeperate programs for each stage?

sorry if i'm silly, i really have no idea about these things

Yes you will import the files edit them create chapters add music effects transitions etc then go to the next stage where you will create the menu chapters preview it and then burn
