EasyNote - wireless not functioning

I have inherited a Packard Bell EasyNote laptop with non functional keyboard and broken screen/lid. I have managed to get it functioning OK with the exception of one key. I have set it up on my existing network by cable to the router and it is seen and can be accessed by each of the other PC’s. One of my PC’s is a laptop that is connected to the router wirelessly, so that I know the wireless side of things work. Device Manager on the EasyNote displays that it has a Ralink RT73 USB Wireless LAN card.
I removed the connecting cable and tried to set it up wirelessly, but when opening the Wireless Connection Status, it displays (1) Status – Acquiring network address (2) Network – this displays the correct address but flashes alternately between a blank entry and the correct router address (3) Signal Strength maximum number of bars.

Not sure where to go from here.

Resolved. But I do not know how I did it!
