e-mails delayed or completely missing

We are experiencing long delays in receiving e-mails via our BT server from specific places (e.g. China)in the lead up to Dec 25th.

However if we ask that the same message is sent to a TISCALI e-mail address we receive them without problem.

Both ISP's helpful (i.e. this is NOT a complaint), but my question is this...

Are these delays likely to be caused by the surge in e-mail traffic probably experienced on the net at the moment whilst we all send 100's of Xmas messages; and influenced by the different paths they must take from the sender to the recipient?

And therefore am I likely to 'lose' this problem in the New Year?

Is there any way I can track e-mails?

BT have in place some rather draconian spam filters and there is a possibility that everything which originates in China is being checked. Hopefully it will die away...
