E-mail address identification

  Roadgiant 21:46 03 Sep 03

I've changed jobs and have been given an e-mail address that doesn't tell anyone who it is - it's my job title.

This is OK to internal people but not very helpful to external people - I've known of some people how have deleted my e-mail as they think it's spam!

Does anyone know how to change the properties so that when anyone receives an e-mail from me in their inbox it shows my name but retains the e-mail address to enable them to reply?

Thanks for any advice you are able to give.

Why not put your name in the 'Subject' window?

Perhaps you could put your name in The Subject Line of the email instead.

If you're using Outlook Express, go to Tools > Accounts > Mail tab, highlight your account, choose Properties, choose General tab and in the User Information section > Name, enter whatever name you desire, click Apply and OK to exit. That new name will appear in the recipient's "From" field.
