If I have a pivot table based on the cell range A1:G100 and I want to add a few rows of data, how do I get the pivot table to calculate the extra rows without having to edit the cell range?

Whilst there are some members here who can probably answer your query, and not intending to advertise or impinge on the expertise of this site, but you may get a wider and more rapid answer on a specialist Excel site for example click here

I agree wholeheartedly with Picklefactory - especially as pivots have changed in XL 2007.

I am not an expert on pivots or I would respond here but I believe that what you want is certainly dooable.

Thanks both. I've just upgraded to 2007 and there is a lot of changes to get used to.

. . . . if . . . .

you insert your new rows above the last row in the spreadsheet. You can then right-click on the pivot table and Refresh Data

Never thought of that, but it defeats the purpose really.
