DVD's wont play properly with WMP.

When I try to play a DVD with Windows Media Player v10, the image is just a screen of scrambled colours. I have PowerDVD v3 installed, and as I understand it, WMP should make use of the codecs from my PowerDVD s/w.

Has anyone got any suggestions as to how to rectify this please(I assume it's some sort of plug-in issue)?

Running on XP SP2.

Cheers, dagwoood.

Hi, just a suggestion - in wmp go to Tools/Options and check that download latest codecs is ticked - also check all other options, too many to mention here.

Cheers.

Technotiger, sorry for the delay in getting back to you, forgot to post the solution that worked for me.

I made WMP my default player for DVD video files and then reinstalled WMP 10 and that did the trick.
