DVD's not playing properly

I have a Packard Bell igo 4000, intel celeron 1.5ghz, 224mb RAM, with a Mat*!@:a UJDA730 DVD/CDRW. I have recently been having problems with DVD film playback. I have interactual dvd player, Powerdvd 4, Windows media player v9, realone and Videolan. On all of them the playback is quite jumpy and the sound has clicks in it. Can anyone help?

Make sure DMA is turned ON for your hd/dvd as this often leads to jitters in playback if it is not...

Thanks, quick question, how do you check if the DMA is on for a dvd? I know how to do it for the hdd, but not the dvd player.

On most occasions I have seen this problem it was due to video card drivers--try reinstalling drivers or if using NVidia drivers try rolling back driver in device manager.
