Hi all can anybody advise me on this problem i recently fitted a second DVD/RW drive to my pc,i set the jumpers to slave both drives are on the same ide ribbon cable and both work fine, The master drive is a Teac and the slave is a samsung the teac writs in DMA mode and no problems burning but the samsung if you go into devce manager/advanced settings it says
Device 0
Transfer Mode DMA if available.
Current Transfer Mode Ultra DMA Mode 2

Device 1
Transfer Mode DMA if available.
Current Transfer Mode. PIO mode. Auto Detection is greyed out on both devices. The Teac burns as well as it allways has but the samsung takes about an hour+ to burn a music CD is there any way that i can set both drives to DMA mode. ????

Download the script (using Internet explorer) from the "Quick solution" section and run it.

Worth reading the whole article as well...it fully explains what's going on.
