I recently had to reinstall my op/s windows xp.
Since then my d:drive (dvd/cd-rw)fails to recognise any dvd+rw discs,it worked okay beforehand.dvd+r&cds work fine.The drive is a NEC DVD+RW ND 1100A.
Anybody have any ideas to my problem.

You will need something like InCD to use RW discs

You'll have to reinstall the drivers

When you say "I recently had to reinstall my op/s windows xp." Do you mean reformat? What drive did you put the WinXP disk in to it?

I had to re-set my computer to the factory settings a while ago and I now have the same problem. I can use CD+RW, but the drive will not recognise any video discs and I can no longer use DVD+RWs. Like you, mine worked ok before. Because I've not had internet connection for a few months I haven't tried to fix the problem

Xp cannot write to DVDs you need third party software such as Nero.
