dvd writing drive

im interested in buiying a dvd writing drive, basically the functions i want is to be able to copy my own music to cds, and also home movies to dvds for playback on dvd players. basically i found this one click here
which seems quite reasonable, but can anyone tell me if it would be suitable for the task set, also, any experiences with it if anbody actually owns one.

What you need to look out for is the type of DVD it will record -- the one you've referenced does DVD-R and DVD RAM. It doesn't seem to do DVD-RW, which might not be a problem to you if you don't intend to re-use your DVDs.

So, you just need to check that the domestic DVD players you intend to play your movies on can play DVD-R format. Many (most) modern ones can.

Sorry, I don't have experience of the particular machine.

that drive doesnt record CD's either.
