Hi
Page 193 of the latest edition of PCA (Sept 06) shows the recommended DVD Writers, but I notice that they are all listed as EIDE interface.
My PC (2 yrs old) has IDE, but can it use IDE ?(its an Intel 865GLC mobo)

p.s. ever notice that the section in PCA states TOP10, but only 5 are shown....weird.

Should say
"Can it use EIDE? !"

Yes, you can use an EIDE drive. The PC would have to be fairly old not to support Enhanced IDE.

Perhaps they're counting in binary and generously displaying an extra three items ;-)

Or they're using the octal system and they've missed three out!

All drives and systems* have been EIDE now for so long that they're often just called IDE. Don't worry, they will work fine.

*unless they're serial of course!
