Is DMA enabled on the drive (check properties in Device Manager)?
WinDVD is another piece of software but it wouldn't surprise me if you had the same problem!

Your processor is not big enough. I believe the minimum spec is PIII 500. I think you will need to get an Mpeg card.

The min spec is indeed P2 350...Rams Ok just ..But what of the graphics card, Type? Model ?

  Rtus 21:18 19 Jan 03

The vid card is a just spec riva tnt2 32meg.updated drivers may help.( or is it onboard?)When I first bought my combo drive I tried PowerDVD, it wouldnt get on with the card So I used Windvd.I still use it but have updated the graphics on that unit to a GeforceMX 400 64mb ddr.. Hang on Ill see if I can check your mobo manual..you could also try reducing what you have running at startup..Run Msconfig..Win98??

going on the spec youve supplied you should be Ok but would as I said above depend on how much else is running..your 256mb isnt made up of 2 strips is it..
