DVD+/-RW drive not recognising any discs

Can anyone help? I've just got a new laptop (an E System 4213 with Vista home basic. I has a TSST corp CDDVDW TS-L632H ATA Device listed as the DVD but everytime I put a disc in, it spits it out and gives the error:

'Insert a disc into drive E'

Have tried uninstalling from Device Manager and successfully reinstalling but although it's listed ok and says it's working, I still can't get it to recognise a single disk. Is there anything I can do?

As it's listed as E, do you have two optical drives (not too likely with a laptop)?

You may have to change the drive letter to D.
