dvd rw compatibility

ok when i put my dvd rw in as the ide2 master and my cdrw as the ide2 slave my computer wont boot up properly. when i remove on or the other and just have one of them in everything boots up fine.
when it does boot up with both plugged in it wont recognise the dvdrw.... is there any reason for this....

It sounds like you need to alter the jumpers.I had a similar prob with Pioneer dvd-rw/Liteon cd-rw,several tries later I got DVD-RW as Slave and CD-RW as master.

cornick,

You would maybe be better installing one of the two, as a slave to your h/d.

It is better for copying on the fly.

As Chegs above, also make sure your jumpers are correctly set.
