dvd rom replacement

hi all, i just of to get a new dvd rom to replace my broken one, i understand its prety much plug and play, is there any bios adjustments to make, would it be usefull to remove the offending one and take it with me in respect of size connections etc.....first time ive had the back off it

No bios adjustments the drivers are generic

old one out new one in connect up exactly the same make sure you set the jumper the same and windows will detect it on boot up and load the driver

It shouldn't make a scrap of difference what make of drive is installed - in fact a lot of them are merely rebranded by companies from specialist manufacturers.

Incidentally, BigPockets has just started selling the Sony CRX230AE CD-rewriter for £15.99...:-)
