DVD Rom Problems

  TazDevil 15:51 12 Jun 04

This is my first posting here, but I am looking for advice.

I have a DVD Rom player installed onto my system which is running Windows 98se, 8Gb HDD, and 192MB of Ram with less than a quarter being used. I can play CDs whether audio or software but cannot play DVDs. The drive just says that it has no disk installed. All the software is installed as are the drivers.

I am wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction to remedy this.

Many thanks

your dvd may not recognise certain types of media(makes of dvd discs)you could try a manufacturers firmware up date

Do you also have a cd drive in your computer if so have you checked the configuration of power dvd to make sure that your dvd player is the default drive and not the cd player.

Have already checked that but it still won't let me play DVDs
