DVD rewriter compatibility with AMD Athlon 1700+

I have just bought a LG internal DVD rewriter as an upgrade but when reading the system requirements it lists CPU as Pentium 4 2.4ghz or higher. My chip is an amd athlon 1700+.
Will this still work OK?

You shouldnt have any problems, burning etc may take a little longer if you have to encode etc, but I'd say you'll be fine

I cannot believe that the DVD writer will not work with Athlon 1700+. Only possible reason for such a high processor spec would be to achieve the highest read/write rates. If your hardware cannot cope, it will just work at a lower speed.

I have an LG Dual Layer internal DVD Rewriter working perfectly on a Duron 1300 processor as well as a standard LG DVD Rewriter on an Athlon 2000. No problems whatsoever.

I have a NEC Dual Layer DVDRW working on a PIII 450Mhz. No problems at all - Beat that ;-)

Thanks to all, that saves me a whole heap of worry.
