I got a Hi-Grade Laptop with a multi format dvd writer installed Panasonic(or Mat*!@:a) UJ-815. According to the specification found in Panasonic, it support DVD-RAM. How to use DVD-RAM disk? I read in somewhere, DVD-RAM disk is similar to a hard drive. Sonic DVD record cannot handle it.

i use my DVD-RAM drive just as another hard drive/floppy drive, drag and drop in windows explorer,

you may need to format the disk first,on my PC its start\programs\DVD-RAM\DVD-RAM driver\DVDFORM, and i format in FAT32.

Thank you for the reply, I tried that. But it does not work. After I format the disc, the identification of the drive change to CD-RW from DVD-RAM under winXP. Any idea?

hiya, the following is from the read-me file that came with my XP driver.

"After formatting DVD-RAM disc as UDF with DVDForm software, there may be a possibility that DVD-RAM icon are changed to
CD-ROM icon.
DVD-RAM disc can be read/written properly even if this icon
change occurred.
CD-ROM icon will be fixed back to DVD-RAM icon after
restarting PC."

try saving to the disk, it should be OK?
