Ok this is not strictly pc but I have just got a Panasonic DVD-R/RAM recorder & I am finding that with the DVD-R discs there is a loss of recording space available on the disc each time I record something & erase it.

For instance a 2 hour disc is now down to 80 mins despite there being nothing on the disc.

Is this normal? DVD RAM discs are fine.

DVD-R discs are not re-writable, you may delete what you have recorded but you will not get the space back.
